How important is Water?

There are many health benefits from drinking water. “Think of water as a nutrient your body needs that is present in liquids, plain water, and foods. All of these are essential daily to replace the large amounts of water lost each day,” says Joan Koelemay, RD, dietitian for the Beverage Institute, an industry group.

Your minimum target should be half of your body weight in ounces per day. However, your goal should be your full body weight in ounces. For example, if you weigh 160 Lbs., your minimal consumption should be 80 ounces but you should aim for 160 ounces daily.
